BUSY DAY FOR PVFC ENDS WITH FATAL BELTWAY CRASH

Thursday, February 21, 2013 Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company members were kept busy Thursday, Feb 21 responding to several accident and fire calls, followed by a fatal crash on the Beltway shortly after midnight. Among the incidents PVFC crews responded to were an overturned auto on Caves Road in the Chestnut Ridge area, an overturned auto on Stevenson Road in our first due and two fire calls in Randallstown. Early Friday morning, PVFC Squad 322 & Tower 323 were alerted with other units for a vehicle crash on the Inner Loop of Interstate 695 between exits 20 & 21 with reported ejection. Tower 323 was the first unit to arrive and confirmed the driver of a Honda car had apparently driven into a tractor-trailer and was ejected, then run over by another vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and PVFC crews operated for lighting, a gas leak and scene clean up.
