SQUAD 322 RESPONDS TO FIRE IN MACY'S AT SECURITY SQUARE MALL

     

Tuesday, February 19, 2013 Shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, Baltimore County westside fire units including Pikesville VFC Squad 322 were dispatched for the report of a fire on the 2nd floor of Macy's at Security Square Mall. First arriving BC22 (Brown) arrived with nothing showing, and was met by mall security who advised they had smoke on the second floor. BCoFD Engine & Truck 13 (Westview career) found a fire in a supply closet that was being held in check by the sprinklers with smoke throughout the department store. The Squad was the second arriving special service unit and was assigned to shut down the sprinkler system followed by coordinating the ventilation of the building with BCoFDTruck 18 (Randallstown career). Units remained on the scene for over an hour assisting Fire Investigation Division & ventilating the building.
