Pikesville, MD – June 23, 2011 – With a commute of more than 3,000 miles, Stu Carter definitely travels the longest distance to respond to alarms as a member of the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company. In 2010, Carter, a resident of Phoenix, AZ and a PVFC member for almost 47 years, responded on 123 calls, “slept in” at the firehouse providing overnight coverage 42 times and compiled 30 training hours. .
