Sunday, March 7, 2010 - Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company has been called upon to assist the community with a major water main break in Northwest Baltimore County. On Saturday, March 6th, it was discovered that a 36-inch water main had ruptured in the Owings Mills area, causing limited or no water for tens of thousands of homes and businesses along the Reisterstown Road corridor and surrounding areas. As the situation escalated on Sunday March 7th, officials contacted PVFC and arranged for non-potable water to be made available for residents. As of 10 p.m. Sunday, PVFC crews dispensed water to about two dozen residents.
