Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Squad 322 was among units that responded to a motor vehicle crash with reported entrapment on the Outer Loop of the Beltway between Liberty Road and Security Boulevard in Woodlawn during rush hour Tuesday night, February 23. Rescue Box 3-61 was dispatched at 5:14 p.m., and BCoFD Engine 3 (Woodlawn career) arrived to find one vehicle on its side over the guardrail that landed in a flowing stream with two patients trapped. Squad 322 arrived next followed by BCoFD Truck 18 (Randallstown career) and began stabilizing the vehicle. Both rescue crews shored the car up using two ART's & Struts, followed by flapping the roof down in order to gain access to the two patients. The rescue was completed in roughly 15 minutes and the patients were transported to local hospitals.
